Touring the Gironde by bike…
Did you know ? It is possible to discover the heart of the Gironde on two wheels, through a 480 km cycle route, 90% of which is on its own site (without cars to share the road with). You will notably take part of the very famous Canal des deux Mers or its salty cousin the Vélodyssée.
The most fervent subjects of the little queen will treat themselves to the entire journey on the occasion of a dedicated vacation: they will thus savor the very rich diversity of landscapes of the department, between vineyards, ocean and historical heritage. When others will occasionally taste its pleasures thanks to the sections specially studied by Gironde Tourisme in a very practical guide produced with Éditions Sud-Ouest.
Among the 22 loops to be completed, two routes are offered on the BBTE territory: one around Blaye and its legendary Citadel, the other Bourg, from its medieval village to its charming vineyards. Fill your water bottle and put on your sneakers: it's high time to turn off the engine and go green!
