Plassac, nestled along the Gironde estuary, is a mosaic village.
A Gallo-Roman villa was built as early as the first century, and its decorations are still visible. As you stroll through the narrow streets, admire the contemporary mosaic works created by Emilie Baudrais, an artisan based in the village, and the local residents: a boat in the port, a frame on the seawall, a painting next to the museum, and another near the tennis court.
For its part, the port of Plassac was very active in the 18th and 19th centuries. The construction of beautiful stone houses bears witness to this. The Virgin of Montuzet, perched at the top of the village, offers a remarkable view of the Gironde estuary.
