Description

By taking a section of the Tours route, on the way to Santiago de Compostela, reach the town of Plassac and its old streets and plunge into the heart of Antiquity by discovering the Gallo-Roman villa! Join the bank of the Gironde, reach the marina and set off to attack the hills. Shaded paths, landscapes of vineyards, beautiful viewpoints around the Virgin of Montuzet are on the menu for this walk! But also the Gallo-Roman villas of Plassac and a journey to discover modern mosaics which decorate the village.

Step 1: Departure

Departure from the car park behind the tennis club.
You go down towards the edges of the estuary.

Step 2: Step 2

You follow the banks of the Gironde Estuary to reach the port.

Step 3: Step 3

Go along the port of Plassac, cross the D669 and take the rue de la Taillande.

Step 4: Step 4

Following the rue du Chai you will find Parc Saquary on your right. Turn on the second left.

Step 5: Step 5

Go up Chemin de La Lande Ouest to the D135 which you cross to take Rue Gadeaux.

Step 6: Step 6

After having passed in front of the ruins of the old noble house of Gadeau, you arrive at a fork, turn left.

Step 7: Step 7

Turn right to join the D135, turn right and immediately left.

Step 8: Step 8

Arrived at the D133, turn right and immediately turn left.

Step 9: Step 9

After walking along Chemin de Hontagne, turn right on Rue de la Maisonette as far as the D135E3.

Step 10: Step 10

You arrive at a fork, either turn left to reach the center of Plassac, or turn right to extend the route and pass in front of the Château Monconseil.

Step 11: Step 11

Following the Chemin de la Jauguille, you will reach the center of Plassac straight ahead and the starting point.
