Stroll along the stalls looking for good local products

01

Stroll at the foot of the Citadel in Blaye

The large market of Blaye, at the foot of the Citadel of Vauban, offers a pleasant setting where you can stroll, the Wednesday and Saturday mornings, in the aisles to discover many local producers or products. The flagship product of this market: white shrimp!

02

Stroll under the Halle de Bourg

More intimate, you will find all the Sunday mornings a picturesque market under the old village hall, where oyster and fish sellers rub shoulders
with local fruit and vegetable producers. This is a great opportunity to discover this heritage and its typical 19th century metal structure.

03

Stroll around the large market of Saint-André-de-Cubzac

For you consumers, it is an opportunity to meet traders and producers who will help you appreciate authentic products and dishes cooked on site. Meet on the main square of the Champ de Foire every Thursdays and Saturday mornings.

Do you know the chevrette?

Fished in the Gironde estuary, the white shrimp or “chevrette”, as we say here, is an unconditional BBTE aperitif! Often sold cooked, these small shrimps have the particularity of remaining white after cooking.

Star anise is often added during cooking to give them a little aniseed taste, much sought after by amateurs. Enjoy them with a chilled pastis or a glass of dry white wine!
