In Plassac, near Blaye and its UNESCO-listed citadel, Château Monconseil-Gazin has been the property of the Baudet family since 1894. The estate extends over 35ha of vines and the clay-limestone terroir renowned since Gallo-Roman era, offers fruity, generous and aromatic wines, blend of Merlot, Malbec and Cabernets. A pioneer of Sustainable Agriculture, JM Baudet ensures rigorous work and monitoring of the vines and wines until bottling at the château (Terra Vitis Label). A delicate aging in oak barrels optimally develops all the qualities of the wines produced. The famous Revue des Vins de France considers the estate to be “one of the stars of the appellation”. Françoise and Jean-Michel welcome visitors to the estate, for a tasting visit from Monday to Saturday at 11 a.m. and 15 p.m. (or by appointment) or for an oenological escape game.
