Piscine municipale de Braud-et-Saint-Louis
The Tournesol Pool in Braud-et-Saint-Louis was inaugurated in April 1980.
This type of swimming pool was part of a building project in the 1970s called “Mille piscines” (“A Thousand Pools”) whose goal was to encourage swimming throughout the country after the poor showing of French swimmers in the 1968 Summer Olympic Games.
Its pool is 25 by 10 metres, with a depth of 2 metres at the deep end and 0.8 metres at the shallow end.
Its special feature is its cupola which can be opened to 120° on sunny days.
Various activities are available here: swimming lessons for all skill levels, aquarobics, diving, relaxation for pregnant women, and more.
