Description
A small tourist rally for children aged 6 to 12 and their families, to discover Saint-André-de-Cubzac.
For an hour, parents follow their children, from the Cloître des Cordeliers to the Moulins de Montalon, and discover the city through riddles, questions and drawings.

Step 1: The Cordeliers Cloister

Step 2: Commander Cousteau’s Birthplace
Originally from Saint-André-de-Cubzac, the family of the famous Calypso Commander owned a pharmacy at no. 83 rue Nationale. It is in this house that Commander Cousteau was born on June 11, 1910.
After a life of traveling the oceans to introduce them to as many of us as possible, he chose to be buried in his hometown on June 25, 1997.

Step 3: The Church of Saint Andrew of the Name of God
Built by the Benedictines of Sauve-Majeure around the 12th -13th century,
it was fortified and remodeled from the 14th to the 18th century.
The four-story bell tower dates from the 16th century.

Step 4: The Château and Robillard Park
This small 16th century manor house, surrounded by a park with varied tree species, is the property of the municipality.
The rectangular main building, pierced with mullioned windows, houses an octagonal tower in the middle of the facade as well as a sundial from 1640.
Backing onto the castle is a green theater where shows are sometimes organized in summer.
Near the entrance, a tree of impressive dimensions has been listed in the Inventory of Natural Sites since 1936.

Step 5: The Montalon Mills
The five windmills dating from the 18th century, today without their wings, are the only memories of the millers, who were for a long time the “lords” of these places.
They have the particularity of being located on the highest point of Cubzaguais
(73 meters). A magnificent panorama extends from the mound of Fronsac to the Côtes de Blaye via Bordeaux.
