The discovery of Bourg
Bourg is first and foremost a town with a rich past, with its citadel, its medieval streets and its blond stone houses. But it is also a green setting, with its parks, its gardens and its landscaped banks.
The village can be discovered on two levels: the upper town offers you a covered market, the “Citadel Museum”, the Citadel Castle (today a neoclassical residence) or even a Moorish villa. The lower town, for its part, gives pride of place to the port.
Exploring the surroundings by electric bike
From the Tourist Office, hop on your electric bike and set off to discover the region's treasures. The cycle loops will reveal varied landscapes, between vineyards, forests and panoramas of the Gironde. Don't miss the magnificent Corniche road, which will take you from Bourg to Blaye, offering breathtaking views of the estuary, or the opposite route which will take you to the prehistoric cave of Peer-non-Peer in Prignac and Marcamps.
