A precious natural heritage
The green lung of our destination, the Forêt de la Double extends over 4 departments and no less than 63% of the Latitude Nord Gironde territory... which legitimately gives it its place in the list of must-see places to see! With the banks of the Saye, the Livenne and the Moron, its streams and ponds, it is a wild and preserved refuge. Local and migratory fauna but also threatened species such as the pond turtle or the European otter are housed among ash trees, oaks, umbrella pines...
The Blaye Bourg Terres d'Estuaire destination makes it a point of honor to introduce everyone to this natural heritage by adopting, with all of its service providers, an eco-responsible approach. Reasonable pruning, conservation of wild plots and restoration of the ecosystem are the pillars of our commitment, including the protection of part of this forest by a Natura 2000 convention.

Whether you are a couple, a family, or a group of friends, themed nature outings are offered throughout the region from April to October. During these walks, nature guides accompany you along the paths to discover the fauna and flora that inhabit the different environments, from wetlands to forests and countryside.
On the lookout for birds in our countryside, searching for local wildlife, these walks are also an opportunity to exchange ideas and better understand the environment around us. Enriched by this new perspective and knowledge, you can enjoy getaways in harmony with nature!

In fun mode during our Nature activities
Take part in our many nature activities as a family, from educational walks to fishing introductions, including live outdoor shows! The youngest will be able to discover this remarkable site, transformed into a playground and artistic creation during our treasure hunts, our investigations or even land art workshops organized and led by professional artists.
From the treetops with Parc Natéa
For thrill-seekers, head towards Natea and its 20-hectare park dedicated to outdoor activities. It's hard to know where to start with archery, climbing, paintball, and laser tag. Our favorites are the zip lines and the treetop adventure course, perfect for discovering the forest from above!
In relaxation mode
Lie down on the sandy beach of the Moulin Blanc lakes and enjoy supervised swimming with your family in season, picnic in the shade of the pine trees and play pétanque with your friends or take the fitness trail alone to get back in shape!

For thrill-seekers, the Forêt de la Double can also be discovered during adrenaline-pumping sporting events!
Immerse yourself in adventure with our mountain bike rides through routes carefully designed by our associations who work with passion every year to offer new trails. The La Gabaye and Vergnes mountain bike hikes, bringing together 1000 and 800 participants respectively, are an opportunity to share a strong and unforgettable sporting experience!
