Journey beyond ages and borders to the Moulin de Charlot!
Built a long time ago on a rocky outcrop, given to the Templars in 1232, enlarged, abandoned, then renovated by Monsieur and Madame Chatin and taken over by their children, the Moulin de Charlot, formerly Moulin de Peyrat, has stood the test of time! Today it welcomes the whole family for a day of relaxation, fishing activities or for a festive evening on the terrace of the restaurant “Le Moulin de Charlot”!

Located in the town of Marcenais in a small haven of peace, crossed by the Saye river and equipped with a pond, the Moulin de Charlot is above all an exceptional place belonging today to the Ottaviani family, owner of the site and the restaurant installed in the old water mill, but with free access!
We come to Moulin de Charlot to relax, enjoy the calm and let ourselves be lulled by the rustling of the leaves and the running of the water.

From March to October, nature walks and activities for all are organized on the site and enhance this little green setting which can be discovered in a friendly, almost family atmosphere. We discover the rich biodiversity of the site.
The fishing pond, at the heart of the site, located in a wetland, welcomes fishing enthusiasts looking for a peaceful, bucolic setting.

The renovation and transformation of the old water mill, into a family creperie in 1975 for many decades, has now given way to a seasonal restaurant and beer garden. Frédéric Ottaviani, grandson of the Chatin family, has taken over and offers a unique place.
Le Moulin de Charlot restaurant brings together locals and travelers in a bucolic setting! Sit on the terrace at the water's edge, quench your thirst with a cold beer and treat yourself to generous, tasty, homemade cuisine that highlights local flavors.

Here, terminology is important. At Moulin de Charlot, we're not talking about taverns, but about beer gardens! But “what is a beer garden?” you might ask! Literally translated as “beer garden” in German, Biergarten refers to an outdoor dining venue, usually located in a garden or courtyard, where people can gather to enjoy, among other things, beer and often traditional German food. .
