Château Puybarbe, owned by Anna and Riku Vaananen, is located on the highest point of the Côtes de Bourg appellation and looks across the Gironde estuary from the right bank of Bordeaux wines. The 36ha vineyard is mainly composed of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and is cultivated using sustainable practices: Château Puybarbe does not use herbicides or chemical fertilizers and is both HVE (High Environmental Value) and ISO 14 001 certified. , since 2017. A modern cellar was inaugurated during the 2001 vintage. It includes numerous technical advances, serving traditional know-how, respectful of the grapes and wines, with the stated objective of being recognized as a of the most renowned producers of the “Côtes de Bourg” appellation.
