In Plassac, near Blaye and its UNESCO-listed citadel, Château Monconseil-Gazin has been owned by the Baudet family since 1894. The estate covers 35 hectares of vines and the clay-limestone terroir, renowned since Gallo-Roman times, produces fruity, generous and aromatic wines, a blend of Merlot, Malbec and Cabernets. A pioneer of Sustainable Agriculture, Jean-Michel ensures rigorous work and monitoring of the vines and wines until bottling at the château (Terra Vitis Label). A delicate aging in oak barrels optimally develops all the qualities of the wines produced. The famous Revue des Vins de France considers the estate to be "one of the stars of the appellation". Visitors are welcome to the estate for a tasting tour from Monday to Saturday at 11 a.m. and 15:30 p.m. (or by appointment) or for a wine escape game.
